About

Avtandil Vartagava was born on December 15th, 2010 in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 2016 he enrolled in Z. Paliashvili Central Music School’s “Gifted Children Department” in the first grade of the piano division in professor Dodo Tsintsadze’s class.
Since the age of six, Avtandil has been successfully performing at the school’s annual and showcase concerts, creative and jubilee events in various cities. He has performed numerous times with symphonic and chamber orchestras. He is a winner of several international competitions and festivals and he won the title of laureate.

In 2024 he continued studying in professor Esma Qiria’s class.

In 2024 he won 1st prize in the “15th international Volodymyr Krainev Competition for Young Pianists” in Zurich, Switzerland.

In 2023, 1st prize in „Arno Babajanyan 7th international competition-festival“ for junior and young pianists in Erevan, Armenia.

In 2022, 1st prize in Tengiz Amirejibi 7th international piano competition in Borjomi, Georgia.

In 2022, 1st prize in the 7th Tbilisi International Contest of young Pianists in Tbilisi, Georgia.

In 2021, 1st prize in Otar Taktakishvili 2nd international Competition in Tbilisi, Georgia.

In 2019, 1st prize in Tengiz Amirejibi 3rd international Piano Competition in Borjomi, Georgia.

In 2019 he received a Special prize of the best non-competitive category performer in 7th competition of Georgian Musician-Performers in Tbilisi.

In 2019, 1st prize in J. S. Bach’s National Competition in Tbilisi.

In 2018, 1st prize in Tengiz Akhobadze international Competition for Young Pianists.

Avtandil attends masterclasses held by renowned pianists from various countries each year.
