Family

Georgia is a country with a rich cultural heritage, and its artistic dynasties have contributed greatly to its cultural identity. One such family is the Toradze family, whose impact on the culture of the twentieth century cannot be overstated.

The Toradze family comprises of Father Davit Toradze, Mother Liana Asatiani, son Alexander (Lexo) Toradze, and daughter Nino Toradze. Davit Toradze was famous Georgian composer, while Liana Asatiani was renowned actress who has graced both stage and screen.

Their son, Alexander (Lexo) Toradze, was a world-renowned pianist who has performed with some of the greatest orchestras in the world. His sister, Nino Toradze, is also a pianist and philanthropist who dedicated her life to promoting the arts and supporting young musicians.

Foundation

The Toradze family has made significant contributions to the arts and culture of Georgia. In recognition of their numerous achievements, Mrs. Nino Toradze established the Toradze Foundation in 2022. The primary goal of the Foundation is to leverage the family’s extensive international network and reputation to promote Georgian culture to a global audience. The Foundation aims to support young and emerging artists, providing them with the resources they need to develop their talents and showcase their work to a wider audience. Through its various programs and initiatives, the organization is committed to preserving and promoting the rich cultural legacy of Georgia, while also supporting the next generation of artists who will carry this legacy forward into the future.

Festival

The Toradze Foundation, Ministry of Culture, Sport and Youth and Georgian Chanting Foundation are establishing the Toradze International Music Festival in 2023 – a high-profile festival of classical music organized by the Toradze Foundation. The festival’s first edition took place on May 30 – June 7, 2023, in Tbilisi, Georgia, and featured performances by some of the most acclaimed classical musicians from around the world, as well as up-and-coming talent.
It is the First Sustainable Festival presented by Route2.
