About

Greta Doveri was born and raised in Buti, in the Province of Pisa, Italy. In 2017 she enrolled in the three-year program at the Luigi Boccherini Conservatory in her hometown. The following year she won a scholarship in the Pierluigi Guidi Prize and enrolled at the Claudio Monteverdi Conservatory in Cremona under the guidance of Maria Billeri.

In 2018 she debuted in the roles of Mimì and Musetta at the Teatro Goldoni of Florence as part of the Ciak! Bohème project of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. In November 2020, she joined the Young Artists Program 2020-21 of the same theatre.

She has won numerous prizes and awards. Among the most recent, we mention in 2019 the Best Female Voice prize in the Spiros Argiris Opera Competition and the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino prize. At the Città di Matera – Capitale della Cultura Competition she was awarded the role of Mimì. In 2020 she won the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi di Trieste prize and she placed first and won the outright first prize at the Aldobrandeschi Musical Competition. At the AsLiCo competition 2021 she was winner of the Emerging Voices category and of the Audience First Prize.

She was admitted to the La Scala Academy of Lyric Opera for the 2021-2023 session. She made her debut on the stage of Teatro alla Scala in 2022 as Clorinda in La Cenerentola per i bambini, directed by Ulrich Peter and conducted by Pietro Mianiti. In the same year at the Piermarini, for the 2022 edition of the Accademia Project, she performed as Carolina in Il matrimonio segreto by Domenico Cimarosa, with a new staging signed by Irina Brook with Ottavio Dantone on the podium. Between October 2022 and March 2023, she returns to La Scala again to interpret the character of the Fox in Il piccolo principe, the first opera for children commissioned by La Scala to Pierangelo Valtinoni, on a libretto by Paolo Madron, directed by Polly Graham and conducted by Vitali Alekseenok, Bruno Nicoli and Paolo Spadaro Munitto. Between November and December 2022, he was at the Teatro Sociale in Bergamo as part of the Donizetti Opera Festival for Donizetti’s Chiara e Serafina, under the baton of Sesto Quatrini and the direction of Gianluca Falaschi, who also designed the sets and costumes. In September 2023, she is still at La Scala, where she plays the role of Berta in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Academy Project 2023, directed by Evelino Pidò in the production by Leo Muscato.
