Born in HeNan, China, HuanHong Li embarked on his opera singing studies in 2009, following the teaching of Yu Wenjie and Lan Tingting.

He attended the XingHai Conservatory of Music, where he graduated in 2016, studying with Cheng Lu, Yang Yan and Chen Xiao, among others.

In the same 2016, he moved to Italy to continue his studies at the Conservatorio Arrigo Boito in Parma, where he received his second-level academic diploma in 2018. Since his arrival in Italy he has been deepening his technique, having Gianni Maffeo, Ilia Aramayo, Paolo Barbacini, Evghenia Dundekova, Giacomo Prestia, and Carlo Colombara as teachers.

In 2022 he was admitted to the Opera School of the Teatro Comunale in Bologna. His artistic experiences, the first of which was in a production of La traviata at the Guangzhou Opera House, include Rossini’s Stabat Mater at Teatro Dante Alighieri in Ravenna, Rigoletto at Teatro Sociale Stradella as Sparafucile and Madama Butterfly as Uncle Bonzo. In 2022 he won third prize at the 58th Concorso Internazionale Voci Verdiane Città di Busseto. In 2022 he was admitted at the La Scala Academy of Lyric Opera for the 2022-2024 biennium. He made his debut on the stage of Teatro alla Scala in 2023 in the roles of Schmidt and the Innkeeper in Andrea Chénier, directed by Marco Armiliato in the production by Mario Martone. Among his recent engagements are the role of Basilio in Il barbiere di Siviglia directed by Evelino Pidò and staged by Leo Muscato, Academy Project 2023, and the role of the Monk and one of the Flemish Deputies in Don Carlo, which inaugurated the 2023-24 season of Teatro alla Scala, under the direction of Riccardo Chailly and directed by Lluís Pasqual.
