About

Dea Gverdtsiteli-Abakelia is a scholarship holder of the Toradze Foundation and Yamaha Music Gulf. From a young age, she has participated in various festivals and has been a laureate of many competitions:

• 2022: 1st prize at the International competition named after Meliton Balanchivadze
• 2022: Grand Prix at the Union of Georgian Folklore and Classical Music Development “Harmony” (online)
• 2021: III prize at the “Sviatoslav Richter” International Piano Competition in South Korea (online)
• 2020: 1st prize at the American Protégé International Competition
• 2020: Yamaha Music Gulf Piano Scholarship holder
• 2017: 2nd prize laureate and sympathy of the audience at the 7th Tbilisi International Competition of Young Pianists
• 2016: 2nd prize at the T. Amirejib Borjomi International Pianist Competition
• 2016: Diploma and nomination in the field of artistry at the Union of Georgian Artists “Artists for the Future” “FUTURE STARS”

Dea Gverdtsiteli-Abakelia is in her 2nd year of the bachelor’s degree program at the Tbilisi Conservatoire, studying under the guidance of Honored Artist of Georgia, Professor Nino Chirakadze.

Born in Tbilisi in 2004, Dea successfully graduated from the Z.Paliashvili Central Music School in 2022, under the tutelage of teacher Maya Beridze.
